How to hang a picture frame?

One of the key platforms for conceiving and executing the ideas of exhbits was the class blog. Over the course of the conversation, the exhibitors reworked their initial ideas to ultimately take the form of the exhibition. Looking back at these posts, one gets a deeper understanding of what inspired the exhibitors. I've brought their comments to light here to bring to light the more subtle ideas behind the exhibit.
When faced with the task of exhibiting the works of Margaret Gest, we were struck by the sense of dissonance between the meaning apparent in the objects, and that which is concealed, lost with time and limited record keeping. Rather than resolve this tension, we hope to materialize it and bring it to the fore of our exhibit. To this end, we wish to create a space that is at once uncannily domestic and intimate, but also public and inaccessible.
